How to: Light your Palo Santo smudging stick with a lighter or candle at a 45-degree angle. Keep the flame on the stick for about 30 seconds or so and then wave it around gently to put out the flame. You will see a beautiful billow of white smoke. (It’s normal for the smoke to be black while the flame is lit, and then it will change to white.) Move around your space to smudge, and when finished place it in a fireproof dish. Unlike traditional incense, Palo Santo smudging sticks will not stay lit on their own. This is what allows you to use the same stick many times over.
Sustainability: Palo Santo is harvested from branches that have fallen to the forest floor. Additionally, Maison Palo Santo provides funding to the community to plant more Palo Santo trees and creates jobs for women in particular, creating a domino effect of health and prosperity throughout the village.
